PS3 – Dual Audio (HDMI + Optical)
objectt width=”425″ top=”355″>
a video, how did you go through both the optical audio cable and HDMI cable in your PS3. I spent a fair few hours twiddling with different combinations and i am hoping thellos video helps you, twin-Audio, too. the difficulty is the timing of whilst you flip at the television again … do not worry if it does not happen the first few times will you take care of it in the end. i’m not positive if it is at the excuses? Stung dependent make are expecting. i have a Sony hello my optical cable is the HDMI cable and plug in a JVC television.

What’s better optical or hdmi ????
@RyzaHDizzle not sure this is linked with multiple audio output…but can try helping.
It sounds like it’s a problem with your PS3 software and not the TV…I assume you output sound from your TV?
You using a HDMI connection or component cables?
he can u please help me andy because my ps3 sound works but a few seconds later while im in game the sound keeps cutting out
There is now an option under Sound Settings – Audio Multi-Output. Switch this to On and you can then run sound through 2 auido outputs. In my case, the HDMI & Optical Output.
PearlDrums1234…I connect to my Sony Hifi via an Optical cable. The optical out on the PS3 is located next to Ethernet port.
Hope this helps.
@realizment: I have 2 zones of audio outs on my receiver. Zone 2 uses analog input only. So when I want to listen to Pandora through zone 2 I need the PS3′s analog out.
so mate how do u connect your tv to ur hifi what cable do u use and where do u connect it in the ps3 is just connect to ur tv yer wid hdmi?
@RageDaug thanx u r great. Great info!
is that joke?
i use headphones for games like mw2 on my optical, and i have regular speakers too that i use if there is ore then just me here or i just dont want to use my headphones. its just convenient
why do people actually want dual audio?
what do I do if my ps3 is hooked to my tv with an hdmi cable but the speakers I want to use on my home stereo only have the red white and yellow attachments? help me out bro
@bigdukem69 whats better? Dolby ProLogic II or DTS Neo:6
Confirmed that the PS3 has a multiple audio output option now. I didn’t notice the option prior to performing the update, but I know for a fact that after performing the firmware update today there is an option under audio settings to select multiple audio out and I was able to hear audio via all 3 outputs simultaneously.
I’m not sure what effects this has on the audio quality of the HDMI or optical outputs.
what is the optical cable for
As far as sound quality, Optical does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio like HDMI. Dolby TrueHD sounds so much better than Dolby Digital.
or with the newer update you can just go to sound options and select dual audio! this is much easier
why would you want tv speakers is well, i thought you would just want the home theatre surround sound….
no but you need a hd tv if you dont have a stereo to plug in your tv.
to do this do we need the stereo/?
