I heard this might be as a result of unhealthy cables, i have tried three cables!!! i have tried all the settings in home windows and in my snap shots card’s settings however nothing works. could delight in if it is advisable lend a hand. thank you. @bksgm A-GPS is using internet connection so its kind of shit but you can download from the net tomtom or garmin maps and use your n8 gps for free

Just played off a season top quality Southpark AVI on a 50″ Plasma
Result = crystal clear picture.

However ,movies do eat up your storagespace -fast- .

Go for a high capacity memory card if you intend to play lots of movies.

(On the other hand …on my Nokia 95- 8GB , I never even came close to use even half of the storage spaces on my phone , = 1800 photos, + 200+ Mp3s)

There are options on most monitors to stretch the picture to fit, namely H-Size and V-Size which you should be able to find in the monitor options. Hope this helps!

Were you able to get it working yet? Start eliminating possible problems. I would try hooking up another computer or HDMI source to see if you still get the black bars. Make sure your video card drivers are up to date, try all of the available resolutions/refresh rates, check your video card-specific software utility’s settings. Read through your monitor’s manual, go through the menu and try out all of the possible settings. If none of the above work, I would consult the monitor manufacturer.

@CrowoyAndroid I had the same problem before on my Samsung screen but i fixed it by using the auto adjust setting on the screen after that I have not had this problem again. Try it just to see if its that kind of problem or manually adjust the screen size through the monitor settings. it always works in my theater tech class.

you could try to convert the hdmi into a dvi and put the dvi end into a monitor. but you will in turn loose sound
