@stephenlandrum At the moment there are no consumer company’s doing cables bigger than 1080p as no consumer device needs it yet

Where you get into needing a better constructed cable (shielding, wire strand material, gauge, all metal body ends, arranged solder pad, etc.) is asking it to deliver 1080p deep color (10 bit and higher) video with lossless 7.1 DTS Master Audio HD sound and encapsulated ethernet – over one cable. In this application, inexpensive HDMI cables would most likely not be able to transfer all of the information. Without error correction (HDMI has none), sound, picture, or color info would be lost.

Okay, kids… we’re getting bent over the wrong thing, really. More expensive HDMI cables are generally built to a certain specification all the way through. The better production and design of those cables will do more to assure the customer that they are getting all of the picture/audio/ethernet information that was sent. That being said, hooking a PS3 or xbox up with HDMI is not even close to pushing the 1.3a spec…Yes… most inexpensive cables will do the job just fine.

Copper is the best conductor, gold is used on the tips so the copper doesn’t oxidise. allot of cheaper cable manufacturers use tin instead of copper to save $ or use a copper mix/coating or core. With the increase of content and high definition video and also now lossless audio and other demanding sound formats let alone the new 4k x 2k panels bandwith a fast and efficient cable is important! Remember USB 1, and then the need for USB 2.0 ..same thing guys. I think Monster is onto something here!

The gold plated ends do nothing more than help reduce corrosion and trick the buyer in thinking they are better because they have GOLD on them it also adds a higher price tag in some cases. Another thing is the quality of metal used to transfer the data, if it is cheap rubbish metal then there is a higher chance of it wearing and or corroding over time of it being used wich in turn will weaken signal and cause slight delays or brakes in data. But thats no need to go spending £300 on HDMI cables

plz people! i am a technology expert and the only difference between cheap and expensive hdmi cables is that some of the more expensive ones have high speed digital but u cant even tell the fucking difference! and always buy gold plated hdmi cables cause they carry the best digital signal and conduct through electricity the best! just buy the 50 cent hdmi cables and they are the same fucking thing!!

Gold plating has nothing to do with signal. Silver is the best conductor. Gold plating reduces corrosion. Cheap cable are the way to go. I paid $6.85 dollars for two 6.5 foot cables on eBay shipping included.

When a digital signal travels through a material (analog) it is affected slightly by the material. The quality of the copper and threading is what gives a clearer picture, the thicker the wire the larger the bandwidth giving you larger color depth and higher resolutions.

digital signals are not prone to interference, it passes 1′s and 0′s, it either works or doesn’t. don’t fall for all the hype and fancy words on the package, you are only wasting money. only buy monster if you can get it cheap on ebay or online.

i bought a hdmi cable at big lots for $10. i hooked it up to my tv and xbox and the audio and video was amazing, so dont go out and spent $50 all the way up to $500 for an hdmi cable. all that matter on them is if they plug into an hdmi port

Astro A40s are for competitive gaming. X41s are wireless, which is nice if you are a casual gamer, but professional gamers use Astros. If you are a casual gamer, you might not like the Astros. Check out a review to find out the details, but remember some people don’t know what they’re talking about when they post a review video.
