HD EZ Lock
Although HDMI is by far the best connectivity that has been made to date, there is an inherent problem that many may have experienced, and that the connector can easily work itself loose, or be knocked or pulled out. Even if the HDMI cable remains plugged in, the looser the connection the more likely the picture quality will deteriorate, a real shame if you have invested good money in your hardware.
Answer to the problem: HD EZ Lock
The manufacturer of this device recently picked up a Consumer Electronics Association 2009 Innovations Award and it is still the only Universal Locking HDMI Adapter on the market.
Easy to use, low profile design works with most HDMI Cables and most HDMI Components available today.
The solution is simple and it is a wonder no one has thought of it before. The lock uses either a screw or adhesive to stick itself around the HDMI port (see picture), which form’s an outer port that enables you to clamp to your HDMI cable firmly to the device. The EZ locks are currently priced at £15 ($20) a pair.
To help you justify the price tag, the manufacturer claims the following additional benefits-
The HD EZ Lock actually supports your HDMI Cable by using your component’s chassis instead of relying on your HDMI Input for support which can significantly reducing or eliminating potentially damaging stress on the HDMI Input itself.
The lock itself is of a low profile design, compatible with HDMI Cables up to 7/16” high and 7/8” wide (HDMI Cable head measurement), and with most other HDMI Components on the market.
The Innovative Floating Design has been centered around the HDMI cable to hold in it’s natural position.
An Ultrasonic Threaded Insert allows for variable adjustment and repeated use. Use your hd over and over again, as you change your system or your HDMI Cables.
The EZ lock is shipped complete with all the necessary hardware to install correctly.
All in all the HD EZ Lock is well worth the investment.
