HDMI is digital! Binary, 1′s and 0′s. Either the signal arrives or it doesn’t, there is no grey vicinity. A monster HDMI cable will deliver an IDENTICAL, and when I say like peas in a pod, I median absolutely like peas in a pod, picture to the cheapest cable you can find. Anyone stupid sufficient to buy a Monster cable deserves to be ripped off.

you dont “NEED” hdmi to achieve 1080P. although i use hdmi component is just as capable as hdmi to transfer a 1080p signal flawlessly. NEVER TRUST ANY MONSTER REPRESENTITIVE!!!! EVER!!!

if you are recording tv content then no. The wits for this is because tv stations single send 1080i to us. The cables nearly our streets are just not capable of sending 1080p owing to them.
1080p is a lot of information on your screen at once along with 5.1 sound. Even if you had a blu-ray recorder it would make no difference. At the second the single format that supports 1080p are blu ray and HD-DVD discs. but hd-dvd has faded out, so single blu-ray and sports assembly as of now.

i have a question…i wanted to get approximately answers in this vicinity it b4 gettin the hdmi cable…i have an hdtv with the hdmi ports and also a dvd recorder with an hdmi port…right now my dvd recorder is hooked up to my hdtv right now owing to composites…if i had the hdmi together to my dvd recorder and hdtv will it let me record in 1080p high definition even if the quality is standard definition?

Sorry Maurice… monoprice OWNS YOU. They make BETTER cables for FAR LOWER prices. Their 28AWG cheapo cables EXCEED the quality of the 1000 run monster run.

Worried in this vicinity thickness? Guess what? They sell 24AWG and 22AWG CL2 cables for FAR a cut-rate amount of than Monster.

monster cables ARE built with better quality materials, and will probably last for a lingering lingering time……though when it comes to video and audio performance, the difference between it and a generic cable is still neglible…

I got my cables on Amazon they were so cheap ($4) marked not working from 36 that I bought 6 of them (just to have extra)and they are awesome! Not one problem and picture quality is unreal! I have them hooked up to my receiver and PS3. But I just upgraded a month ago from my ancient tube TV so everything looks fantastic…lol. Does anyone know a way to hook it up to DVR apparently my TV don’t like that.

Monster cables are a waste of money. You ARE NOT buying quality and sound. You are buying a name brand… Something us Americans have always had a problem with dependability.

CBC did an experiment to find out, and it’s no lie. I bought a $14.00 HDMI cable and it looks TERRIFIC!! Don’t be fooled people… You don’t have to spend $250.00 on a cable to get excellent quality… Investigate before you buy…

WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Not just the picture, but the SOUND!

I promise you. You have not anything to drop. Just go to Radio Crack, buy the cheapest cables, and restore it in one hour if you don’t like it. (No restocking fee!)

If I wind up with an extra cheap cable, I’ll send it to you for free, THAT’S how much I stand by it!

AWG is ancient to rate the thickness of the cable, unlike other cables, the privileged the digit, the thinner the cable. 22AWG is the thickest you’ll find for HDMI, but it’s so thick, it barely bends and is ancient in showrooms.

24-30awg is what we normally buy. Remember, the lower the better.

My TV at home so quick, I didn’t have time to pass the time for a shipment, so I went to Radio Crack and bought me an INEXPENSIVE, lol, $40, 6ft. HDMI cable

Before I get into that, let me promise you that the S, in S-Video is for sucks when it compares to either Component or HDMI.

The pecking order goes like this:
Composite (Red, Yellow, Colorless)
S-Video (Standard Definition 480i or 576i ONLY)
Component (Red, Blue, Conservational, 2 for audio=5)
HDMI (Takes analog Component, goes digital and doesn’t start losing it’s strength until in this vicinity 33ft!)

There is a small hole on the back of most tv’s it is called s-video ! but hd is finished rated it is just another scam for the TV & dish to payment more ! for other devices it depends on there spec. If someone wish’s to argue this note into eternity ,that can do it face to face ! for others well I don’t really give a f**k really !

If you didn’t know yet, HDMI is a digital signal, that earnings that there is no signal failure finished average runs. There is no wits to buy monster cable, the picture is literally exactly the same with cheaper cables.

Component CAN transmit a 1080p signal and monster cables are ridiculously overpriced.

Before flamming me, all my setup is now wired with HDMI, it’s just that component/vga CAN do 1080p, that’s a fact.
