3 blade sets, only 2 blades,
Several places on the internet show this tool as being able to make 3 level strips (for BNC) and it can. However the package only includes 2 blades, and replacement blades are either not available, or hard to find. If you want to use it for 3 level strips then you may need to purchase (2) of these so you can take a blade from the second. I am very dissapointed that the device has 3 blade level height adjustments but only 2 blades.

|Best wire stripper available,
I have owned one of these for nine years and love it. I am a machine tool electrician so I strip a high volume of wires on a daily basis. This tool will make a nice clean cut, then a perfect strip without changing tools. It is indispensable when working with ferrules because the strip length is constant, allowing you to make uniform connections quickly. I recently misplaced mine and am now searching for the best deal to buy another one. I am certain I will not be without it for long. This one is light weight, comfortable, and durable. By far the best wire stripper I have ever used and I highly recommend it to anyone who wires on a regular basis.

|There’s 3 other models in the LC CST series…,
Per Paladins’ website, the 1257 is clearly a 2-level 1/4″ x 1/4″ stripper, preset for RG-6. I assume they’re just using a common body for the 4 models in this Econo line, hence the *missing* 3rd blade. If you want a 3-level stripper for RG-6, look elsewhere.
In testing this on a scrap of Chinese-made Radio Shack RG6, the blade depth settings were precisely on target. No nicking at all of the center conductor or the shielding.
Since I’m forced to also have to deal with legacy RG59 junk, I’ll have to buy a second one and adjust it for the ’59. I don’t want to have to waste time going back and forth on the settings.
Minus 1 star for crappy instructions. They say to rotate the tool “clockwise” when in fact it’s *counterclockwise. Also not shown is the location of the included adjustment hex key: (bottom of the squeeze handle).
