Accell AVGrip(TM) Locking High Speed HDMI(TM)

3 Sep 2009

Accell, a provider of enhanced audio and video interconnects, announced the release of their AVGrip Locking High Speed HDMI 1.3 Cables and the AVGrip Pro Locking High Speed HDMI 1.3 Cables. This patent pending design was created for anyone purchasing an HDMI cable that wants to ensure a trouble free connection. The AVGrip Locking HDMI Cables will be showcased at CEDIA, from September 9 – 13, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia, Hall C, Booth 2553.

Due to the lack of a substantial locking mechanism in the original design specification of the HDMI connector, HDMI cables can come loose or fall out of an HDMI device. Accell’s AVGrip HDMI cable locks into any HDMI device for a trouble free audio and video experience. “Accell listened to the needs of the market and in response we developed this new and affordable interconnect technology,” said Tenny Sin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Accell.

AVGrip Cables:

AVGrip Locking High Speed HDMI 1.3 Cables to 6.75 Gbps (225 MHz) — Available in 1,2,3,4 and 5m cable lengths in highly visible retail blister package or custom installation plastic bag starting at $27.99. The 3,4 and 5m cables are UL Listed and CL3 rated, suitable for in wall installation.

AVGrip Pro Locking High Speed HDMI 1.3 Cables to 10.2 Gbps (340 MHz) — Available in 1,2 and 3m cable lengths in highly visible retail blister package or custom installation plastic bag starting at $39.99.

“When our connector is inserted into the HDMI port, it automatically locks into place. To unlock and remove simply pull back on the cable’s connector casing. We dismissed a push button release design since we found that a surrounding cable will often block its access,” said Michael Weizer, Director of Marketing for Accell. “Accell’s innovative design provides a process of locking and unlocking that is natural, there are no buttons to press or screws to turn.”
